Living in Summit Park, Utah

Summit Park is a wooded neighborhood on the hillside just off I-80 near Parleys Summit, the pass between Salt Lake City and Park City. Of the mountain communities I focus on, it's the closest to Salt Lake City.

What it's like to live in Summit Park

This is living in the trees, with a short drive down to Kimball Junction for errands. Many of the streets have Alpine names, like Innsbruck Strasse and Saint Moritz Strasse.

Like the Snyderville Basin, Summit Park is part of unincorporated Summit County, and it's in the Park City School District.

Short-term rentals

In June 2026, Summit County began discussing restrictions on nightly rentals in neighborhoods with emergency-access concerns, and Summit Park was on the draft list. Nothing was final at the time. If rental income matters to you, we'll check the current rules before you make an offer.

Hillside living. For any home you're considering, ask about the driveway's slope, snow removal, and winter access.

Wooded lots. Get homeowners insurance quotes early in your search, and ask about any wildfire mitigation work on the property.
